Chocs Away!

Found these recently. I date them from late 30's to late 40's. Some brave young chappie leaping out of a plane. I loved them, especially the one where he's just jumping off! I have a secret dream to fly in an old plane and reach out and touch the clouds...

Marion

I just found these images in American Vogue from July this year. Marion Cotillard is fast becoming one of my favourite actresses and I think, one of the most beautiful women on the planet. Mario Testino shot the images (no surprise there) and they really show Cotillard at her most ravishing, though I don't think I have ever seen a bad photo of her that doesn't ooze sensuality! She's just gorgeous, and such a brilliant actress too.

If I were a man, I'd probably be stalking her!

Margate... again!

I know what you are thinking.... you can take the girl out of Margate but you can't take Margate out of the girl! I had to go back last week. It was a beautiful sunny day on Friday and I had a couple of hours to kill. So after a good rummage around my favourite junk shop I headed into the town. If only people could see the potential there. Yes it's run down, yes it's full of half way houses and yes it has serious immigration and unemployment problems... but let's just forget that for a while and look at the fabric from which it was woven.

It has one of the best beaches in Kent, rows and rows of beautiful Victorian terraces, a great old town full of nooks and crannies, the ancient "shell Grotto"(which is just fab by the way!) the up and coming Dreamland... that great concrete Lido, and let's not forget the Turner Centre Art gallery due to open next year... I don't need to say any more. I love it, and I believe that one day the breath of life will once again be given to Margate and it will heave with potential.

Here are some pictures of the WW2 memorial on the sea front, and an old sign from the Dreamland arcade.
